“Ponteland Lions Club was founded in 1982. We serve our community by arranging fund raising events and using the proceeds to support local causes. We are part of an international network of over 47,000 clubs worldwide. We participate in Lions UK projects. We also sometimes choose to support overseas initiatives run by Lions Clubs International Foundation. In particular we respond to life-threatening crises, working through local Lions groups ‘on the ground’ in countries affected. These Lions are often the first responders in an emergency.
